That’s also why we choose « ByWorldGranny» in Peru. Creation of those Knitting Clubs is a real plus for Grannies. They create income but also interaction,they create new relations and they share, and of course they have pleasure while knitting. The grannies who participated in the pilot are eager to continue with this project and after talking to our local partner, Villa Maria del Triunfo’s Municipality they are willing to help us organizing more knitting clubs and hope to extend this project to other municipalities in Lima. The Knitting Social Fabric project offers senior citizens in Peru the opportunity for social interaction and the possibility to earn an additional income. This intergenerational project fights isolation, promotes active ageing and doubles the income of the participating grannies.
